On May 19, Deputy Director of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) Fu Shuangjian on behalf of China signed a memorandum of understanding with Boris Simonoff, Director of Russian Federal Intellectual Property Patent and Trademark Office. This means the two countries will strengthen cooperation in the field of trademarks.
Russian Federal Intellectual Property Patent and Trademark Office is mainly responsible for application receiving, approvals and authorizations on invention, industrial designs, utility models, trademarks, service marks and others. Russian Federation currently has 370,000 valid registered trademarks, 80, 000 trademarks were registered by Madrid International Registration System, and the annual applications for trademark registration are about 50,000 pieces, of which more than 30,000 pieces can be authorized. Chinese enterprises have about 3,000 registered trademarks in the Russian Federation. |
