Wuxi to cultivate 2,000 IP engineers

On the morning of June 28, Jiangsu Provincial Intellectual Property (IP) Training Base was established in Wuxi, which makes Wuxi become the fourth city that has such kind of training base in the province. Vice Mayor Tan Xueming attended the opening ceremony.

In recent years, Wuxi vigorously implemented the quality and IP strategy, and completely promoted the establishment work of national IP model city. The patent applications of Wuxi in 2009 were over 23,000 pieces including 4,300 patent applications. The growth rates of patent applications, inventions and enterprises' patent applications ranked the first in the whole province.

For the future, by the establishment of training base and setting up of IP classes, Wuxi will carry out the IP trainings for IP engineers, enterprises' IP management personnel and development personnel of scientific research. And Wuxi plans to cultivate 2,000 qualified IP engineers in the future five years.
