Asian Brands 500 released in HK

HONG KONG, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- The annual Asian Brands 500 was released in Hong Kong Wednesday, with China Mobile replacing Haier China as the only Chinese Mainland brand among the top 10.

The major reason for China Mobile to join the top 10 was the improvement of diversity of value-added business structure, said the organizing committee.

Other brands in the top 10 were Samsung from South Korea, Toyota from Japan, HSBC China, LG from South Korea as well as Shimzu corporation, Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic and Shiseido, all from Japan.

The evaluation of brands involved four aspects, namely composite performance in market, potential of development in the future, quality of its service and financial index including operation efficiency.

At the same time, three indexes in the World Brand 500 access system were also reflected in the system of Asian Brand 500, according to the organizer.

In the top 100 rank, Japan enterprises owned 57 seats, 1 more seat compared to 2009, while South Korea stayed unchanged with 7 seats, and Chinese Mainland enterprises took 23 seats with 3 seats lesser than last year.

Specially, Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation and China Longyuan Power Group Corporation joined the rank as new arrivals, with China Telecom, China Beijing Hotel and China Shougang Group Being Excluded in the top 100.

According to the performance indexes of this five enterprises, innovation drove enterprises forward and technologies was the core of competitiveness, said annalists.

Also revealed at the day was European and American Brand Asian Influence Top 100, which was led by Microsoft, Nestle and McDonalds.
