China-U.S. Innovation Dialogue held in Beijing |
On October 14, 2010, "China-U.S. Innovation Dialogue" was successfully held in Beijing. Vice Chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang and S&T Advisor of U.S. President and Director of the S&T Policy Office of White House John Holdren together presided over the meeting. The principals from U.S. State Department, Department of Commerce, Department of Treasury, Department of Energy, Trade Representative Office and Patent and Trademark Office, and the principals from Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, State Intellectual Property Office and Chinese Academy of Engineering etc., and over100 representatives from the two sides' business and academia were present at the meeting. Both sides exchanged ideas on China-U.S. innovation policies, the best practice of innovation policies, the opinions of business on the innovation driving measures and the innovation methods of the two sides. The "China-U.S. Innovation Dialogue" was the consensus reached at the Second Round China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue and held under the framework of China-U.S. Joint Commission of Science and Technology Cooperation. The next innovation dialogue will be held before the China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue in May, 2011 |
