Zhejiang: Ningbo Customs seized 5.5m pieces of IPR infringing goods in three months

Ningbo Customs has recently discovered more than 80 thousand pieces of cosmetics hidden in sweaters declared by a company in Fuzhou. Those cosmetics infringed the right of many well-known brands, such as GOGLATE and CHANEL.

Since last October, Ningbo Customs has taken actions to fight against infringement of all kinds of intellectual property rights in cooperation with customs, authorities on public security and those for industry and commerce in Nanjing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Several days ago, Beilun Customs seized 17 thousand pairs of socks, which were all unauthorized PUMA, NIKE or ADIDAS. Those socks were discovered from a batch of exported commodities declared to be sweaters and trousers. It was known that the owner of the goods was a foreign businessman who had entrusted a broker company to declare the goods in the name of “tour & shopping commodities”. At present, the socks are under control of Beilun Customs.

By December 28, Ningbo Customs has cracked more than 120 cases concerning IPR infringement and seized 5.5 million pieces of goods worth RMB 14 million.
