Anhui: Patent grants increased by 80% in 2010 |
According to statistics, in Anhui Province, patent applications were 47,128 and patent grants were 16,012, increasing by 187.6% and 86.3% respectively on a year-on-year basis in 2010. In 2010, all levels of governments in Anhui enhanced the promotion on intellectual property rights (IPR), improved patent management capability and highlighted the vital role of enterprises in IP development Patent applications from enterprises in the province were up to 22,693 in 2010, accounting for 91.8% of service inventions and the proportion ranked the second nationwide following Guangdong. In 2010, Anhui gave full support by making relevant policies, amending “Approaches on the management of special funds for patent inventions”, improving the standards of funding and expanding the scope of financial assistance. Cities in Anhui constituted and implemented funding policies on patent applications; 69 out of 105 towns and 7 villages also followed suit. All these funding policies effectively relieved economic burden of patent applicants and stimulated their innovation enthusiasm. For the next phase of work, Anhui Intellectual Property Bureau will focus on raising patent qualities, increasing the proportion of patents for inventions, promoting the growth of patent grants, stimulating patent exploitation, providing better service for economic development. |
