SPC, SPP Vow to Step up IP Judicial Protection

In their work reports of the Supreme People's Court (SPC) and Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) to the third plenary meeting of the fourth session of the 11th National People's Congress on March 11, the two highest judicial authorities revealed that China will further step up IP judicial protection.

In 2010, Chinese courts of all layers concluded 48,051 IP cases, up 32.96%. In parallel, SPC also ensure judicial justice by stepping up IP law education, formulating China's white paper on IP judicial protection, annual report and typical cases, opening websites and reinforcing the diaphaneity in the judgment, said Wang Shengjun, the president of SPC.

In 2010, SPP made concerted efforts in upholding market economic order, combating IPR infringement and counterfeiting and prosecuting 5,642 suspects, up 14.1%, said SPP president Cao Jianming in his report.
