Premier Li Keqiang highlights the seriousness of rules to protect IPR |
International cooperation is integral to China’s development, said China's newly elected Premier Li Keqiang, when talking about investment during an informal discussion with overseas delegates attending China Development High-Level Forum 2013 in the Great Hall of the People. What the government should do is to provide a level playing field in markets and platforms and highlight the seriousness of rules to protect intellectual property and trade secrets, Li Keqiang said, foreign-invested enterprises and Chinese enterprises would not only compete fairly in the same market, but also cooperate with each other to jointly develop the third party markets. Li Keqiang said the sustainable and healthy economic development definitely depended on expanding domestic demand and would rely on it for a long time when viewed from the practice of tackling the international financial crisis. In addition, it was of great necessity to gradually release the greatest potential of domestic demand implied in urbanization and the coordinated development of four modernizations (The Four Modernizations were goals first set forth by Zhou Enlai in 1963, to strengthen the fields of agriculture, industry, national defense, science and technology in China), said Li. Corresponding supply is essential to the growth. We should upgrade industry, supplement inferior industries such as service sector and improve development quality and efficiency through innovation so as to help build an upgraded version of the Chinese economy, added Li.
