China persists in software copyright protection
IPR in China      2009-09-22 09:27:16
On the morning of September 14, Vice President of the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) and Vice Director of the National Copyright Bureau Yan Xiaohong met with the President and CEO of Business Software Alliance (BSA) Robert W. Holleyman and Vice President Jeffrey J. Hardee.

Yan Xiaohong denoted that, Chinese government pays more attention to software copyright protection work and will continue to persistently boost such work. China is willing to cooperate with patent holder organizations including BSA to improve the level of the creation, use, protection and management of software copyrights. Yan added that, in recent years, China did a lot of work to impel software copyright protection. First, China finished software legalization work in governmental departments and started software legalization work among enterprises; second, the copyright administrations at all levels conducted special campaigns to combat software piracy every year; third, China intensified publicity on software copyright protection.

Rober W. Holleyman thanked the National Copyright Bureau for its effort in protecting the rights and interests of patent holders, legalizing software and protecting IPRs and was quite confident of the cooperation between BSA and the National Copyright Bureau
