Sichuan: Yibin finishes patent investigation work in 2009

To thoroughly know about the use of invention patents and PCT patents, implement IP strategy and uplift independent innovative ability, Yibin Municipal IP Office deployed special persons to take charge of the patent investigation work according to the requirements raised by the State Intellectual Property Office and Sichuan Provincial IP Office.

Meanwhile, Yibin IP Office constituted elaborate plans and doable measures. First, the IP Office deployed special funds to print materials; second, Yibin arranged special traffics to send the questionnaires to the patent holders; third, the IP Office took all the feasible ways to ensure the authenticity and veracity of the data by visiting enterprises, entering districts and counties, making telephones and sending faxes.

The investigation work involved 20 invention patents and one PCT patent. During the investigation work, the officers found out that the holders of non-service patents confronted finance bottleneck and did not know by what way to commercialize their patents. In allusion to these problems, Yibin Municipal IP Office will try to create favorable environment for non-service invention patents
