2nd Mayor Forum on IPR and City Development held in Hangzhou

The 2nd Mayor Forum on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and City Development is held on November 17 and 18, aiming at facilitating the communication and experiences sharing between IP demo cities and discussing the future development. 32 mayors, directors of intellectual property offices and principals for related departments in IP demo cities and those future IPR demo cities and about 160 famous experts, scholars and representatives invited especially from home and abroad gathered together to discuss issues relating to IPR and city development, themed with "implementing IPR Strategy to boost the recovery of economy".

After the opening ceremony, Director of State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu awarded Dongying, Fuzhou, Harbin, Hangzhou, Jinhua, Kunming, Lanzhou, Qingdao, Shenyang, Taizhou, Weifang, and Zhuzhou "National IPR Demo City" and reanimate their leading role to better protect IPRs in the city.

During the forum, 23 mayors from corresponding national IPR demo cities signed the "Manifesto on National IPR Demo Cities", which is a good start for the communication and cooperation among these cities.

As of today, there have been 109 demo cities, future demo cities and trial cities of national IPR work, 23 demo cities, 29 future demo cities, and 57 trial cities respectively
