IIPA Chairman hopes to combat piracy together with China |
Eric Smith, Chairman of International Intellectual Property Alliance, said when meeting with Governor of Hunan province Zhou Qiang, at present, like China, the United States is also fed up with harassment related to piracy and infringement. He hoped to join hands with China to solve such issues and protect IPR. Zhou Qiang introduced the IPR protection work in Hunan. To effectively protect IPR, Hunan attaches great significance to governmental regulations and local lawmaking, the clampdown upon infringing and piracy actions and the education and publicity to the public, etc.. Zhou Qiang also expressed that, Hunan thinks highly of the international cooperation in IPR field, especially the cooperation with foreign civil organizations, universities and scientific organs in IPR research and training. The development of Hunan depends on the protection and wide use of IPR and Zhou hoped to strengthen the cooperation with IIPA to impel the development of Hunan's creative industry and international cooperation. Smith had a high opinion of what Hunan did and showed strong desire to cooperate with Hunan. |
