Henan: 'Famous trademark' panel |

The central province will start an initiative on famous trademark recognition and protection through an expert panel to examine applications. The panel will have at least nine experts and specialists in economics, law, technology, research and other related fields. If two-thirds or more of the panel agree on granting famous trademark status, the application will pass examination, then be followed by a period of public comment. Successful applicants will receive a certificate of provincial famous trademark status valid for three years that can be extended through additional applications. Holders of famous trademarks are entitled to help from provincial authorities if their legal rights are violated in other provinces. The province currently has 34 well-known trademarks with a national reputation and 820 provincially famous trademarks, both of which are lower than the national average, according to the trademark office of the provincial industrial and commercial administration. |
