Great achievements made by Guangdong in IPR protection in 2009 |

In 2009, (to enhance IPR protection), Guangzhou Intellectual Property Office (did the following work). first, the city made two legislations: "Provisions on IPR protection for Guangzhou Asia Games" and "Measures on IPR protection for Guangzhou Exhibition"; second, Guangzhou implemented "Guiding Opinions on IPR Aid Work in Guangdong" and offered effective assistance to enterprises; third, it carried out special intellectual property campaigns such as "Thunderstorm" and "Skynet", solved 28 patent infringing cases, and investigated 82 cases of patent counterfeiting, effectively kept the patent infringing behaviors within limits; fourth, it went to the 105th and 106th Canton Fair, International Auto Exhibition, International Furniture Fair and several other big fairs to propagandize IPR protection and helped with solving cases of patent infringements to maintain a normal order for the trading fair; fifth, it boosted the establishment of intellectual property working departments in industry associations, trained the trial enterprises and set up a long and effective mechanism for IPR self-discipline. Besides, Guangdong has constructed the joint mechanism for IPR law enforcement in the holding cities of Asia Games, including Guangzhou, Foshan, Shanwei and Dongguan, and helped Asia Games Organizing Committee to apply industrial design patents for 65 kinds of products licensed specially by Guangzhou Asia Games. In 2009, Guangzhou Intellectual Property Office successively was appraised by State Intellectual Property Office and Guangdong Intellectual Property Office as "Advanced Unit in National IP Law Enforcement" and "Advanced Unit in Provincial Patent Administrative Law Enforcement". |
