Fujian: Xiamen becomes national IPR work model city

At the very beginning of Chinese year of the tiger, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) officially announced that Xiamen became National IPR Work Model City, indicating that the IPR work in Xiamen developed into a new era.

It is informed that, in recent years, CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee and Xiamen Municipal People's Government paid much attention to IPR work and implemented a series of fruitful policies and measures to inspire independent innovation. In 1999, Xiamen was determined as National Patent Work Pilot City and in October 2007, the said city was again included into the first batch of the Construction City for National IPR Model City. Then, Xiamen carried out municipal IPR strategy, enhanced coordination work on intellectual property rights, established IPR public service platform, built IPR industrialization base and pushed IPR cooperation and exchanges with Taiwan province, which thoroughly raised Xiamen's ability in IPR creation, use, protection and management.
