Henan: Zhengzhou approved as National IPR Work Model City

At the very beginning of the Chinese year of the tiger, Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan province, was officially approved as National IPR Work Model City by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), indicating that IPR work in Zhengzhou has turned into a new page.

In recent years, CPC Zhengzhou Municipal Committee and Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government paid much attention to IPR work, especially when the city was determined as the construction city for National IPR Model City in May 2007. As a result, the patent filings increased to 6,613 pieces in 2009 from 3,361 pieces in 2006 and patent grants rose to 4,000 pieces in 2009 from 1,528 pieces in 2006. Moreover, over 30% of key enterprises set up IPR managerial departments.
