Guangxi: Guilin University of Electronic Technology registered as trademark

After the school badge of Guilin University of Electronic Technology in Guangxi Province was registered as trademark in 2007, the trademarks of school name and shortened form of Guilin University of Electronic Technology was approved by State Administration for Industry and Commerce and awarded trademark registration certificate days ago. It is reported that, Guilin University of Electronic Technology was the first university that registered the school name and shortened form as trademarks in Guangxi.

The principal of Guilin Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce expressed that, according to the regulations of Chinese trademark law, trademark is divided into commercial trademark and service trademark. The registration of school name is generally belonged to service trademark series, the use of the symbol under approved range is protected by law and any units and individuals could not use the symbol for commercial purpose without authorization, otherwise it would constitute infringement and bear legal ability.
