NCAC starts quick reaction mechanism on anti-piracy

The reporter learnt that, to well do the copyright protection work for Shanghai Expo, the National Copyright Administration (NCAC) has presently started anti-piracy quick reaction mechanism to investigate copyright infringement behaviors during the period of 2010 Expo Shanghai China.

In accordance with the quick reaction mechanism, the NCAC will organize, coordinate and guide the investigation work of serious piracy and infringement cases across the nation. The everyday work of the quick reaction mechanism was undertaken by NCAC and Shanghai Municipal Copyright Bureau. Local copyright law enforcement departments and the copyright service workstation at the World Expo should timely report the collected clues to NCAC and immediately report the sudden events and urgent issues. The NCAC will deploy related departments to investigate the cases.

The quick reaction mechanism also regulated that, local copyright law enforcement entities should take measures to dispose the case clues transferred from the NCAC and collected in the regions, and should make administrative punishment to the offenders including confiscating the illegal income, giving him or her penalty and seizing main equipments. Local entities should also expose the punishment results and report it to the NCAC. For the serious cases related to piracy and infringement, local law enforcement entities should timely transfer to public security organs.
