Hebei: illegal publications to be destroyed

"To welcome 4.26 World IPR Day, Hebei Province will destroy infringing, pirated and illegal publications at 10 o'clock in the morning of April 22，in accord with the 31 provinces (regions and municipalities) across the nation. Meanwhile, Hebei will start Green Bookmark Action 2010," proclaimed Xue Baoqin, Director of Hebei Provincial Press and Publication Bureau.

It is informed that, 696,000 or more illegal publications collected by each city, district and member unit since last April will be collectively destroyed. Of these illegal publications, infringing and piracy AV products were 419,000 pieces, pirated books were 203,000 pieces, and illegal newspapers and periodicals were 74,000 pieces. At the spot, another three activities will be conducted, i.e. the signing activity themed as Combating Infringement and Piracy and Protecting IPR, the distribution of green bookmark and other publicity materials, and consultation activity on copyright protection undertaken by Hebei Provincial Press and Publication Bureau.
