Liaoning has 25,801 patent applications

On the morning of April 20, the information office of Liaoning Provincial People's Government convened a press conference to publicize the situation of IP protection in 2009.

It is learnt that, the province had 25,801 pieces of patent applications in 2009, increased by 23.5% compared with 2008, and ranked the ninth in the whole country. Among them, the invention patent applications were 7,125 pieces, increased by 9.6% compared with 2008, ranked the seventh in the whole country. And 15 well-known trademarks were identified, which hit a historically high level. The amount of well-known trademarks was 63 pieces, ranked the tenth in the whole country. The amount of applications on registered trademarks in the whole province was 10,103 pieces; the registered trademarks were 5,648 pieces, ranked the tenth in the whole country. 16 GI trademarks were increased, and the amount of GI trademarks reached 19 pieces, ranked the twelfth in the whole country. The registrations of copyright works in Liaoning were 1,060 pieces in 2009. Liaoning gained 54 authorized new varieties of plants in 2009, increased by 68.7% compared with the previous year. And 626 software works were registered.
