Guangdong: Shenzhen destroys 460,000 pieces of illegal publications |

April 26 is the tenth World Intellectual Property Day. On April 22, according to the unified deployment of related central departments, each place throughout the country respectively carried out the activities on destroying illegal publications. On the afternoon yesterday, Shenzhen's anti-pornography and anti–illegal publications and cultural law enforcement departments destroyed 462,000 pieces of captured illegal publications including 420,000 pieces of illegal audio and video products and 42,000 pieces of illegal books. IP protection is a key content of anti-pornography and anti–illegal publications and cultural law enforcement, according to statistics, from January to March this year, Shenzhen totally mobilized 36,930 law enforcers to make inspections on over 20,000 various cultural operational locations, investigated a total of 231 illegal operational locations, captured 537,507 illegal publications, uncovered 9 criminal cases and seized 12 suspects. The destroying activity launched the series activities for "4.26 World Intellectual Property Day". It is learnt that, the related departments in the city and districts will also hold the activity of “Green Bookmark 2010”and street consultation on IP protection. |
