SIPO and MIIT to push SME IPR Strategy

Recently, the State IP Office (SIPO) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) jointly issued Circular on Implementing the Projects of Accelerating Development of Intellectual Property Strategies of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). The declaration work will start from middle January 2010.

The project will mainly do the following work from these six aspects. First, establish IPR predominant SME clusters; second, raise the IPR consciousness of SMEs and develop IPR publicity and IPR knowledge popularization; third, conduct IPR training in small and medium-sized enterprises and promote the implementation of IPR strategy in SMEs; fourth, foster independent IPR predominant SMEs; fifth, set up SME IPR service supporting system; sixth, establish and consummate IPR protection mechanism in SME clusters.
