SIPO and IPOS Sign Agreement on Patent Data Exchange |
Recently, State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China (SIPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) entered an agreement to exchange patent data. Mr. TIAN Lipu, SIPO's Commissioner on behalf of SIPO and Mr. TAN Yih San, IPOS' Chief Executive, on behalf of IPOS signed the agreement. Both Mr. TIAN Lipu and Mr. TAN Yih San agreed that the enhanced collaborative efforts between SIPO and IPOS will benefit patent applicants in both regions, and SIPO and IPOS look forward to strengthening the bilateral ties to create new opportunities for creators and businesses to protect their IP. This agreement is not only a milestone in bilateral patent data cooperation between SIPO and IPOS, but also another new achievement of SIPO's international patent information sharing. With this agreement, two offices would strengthen the capabilities in patent search and examination, and provide wider patent services to the public and patent applicants.
