How to label patent marks and patent numbers?

According to "Provisions on the Methods for Labeling the Patent Marks and Patent Numbers", within the validity period, the patentee or licensee of the patent licensing contracts may label their products or the packaging of the products with patent marks and numbers. The following contents shall be indicated when labeling patent marks and numbers:

(1) The patent type shall be marked in Chinese characters, such as China Invention Patent, China Utility Model Patent and China Design Patent;

(2) The patent number granted by the State Intellectual Property Office: "ZL" represents "patent", the first and second numbers represent the year of patent application; the third number represents the patent type; and the following numbers represent the sequence number and computer parity bit. Besides, the patentee or licensee may add other text or graphics, but additional text or graphics shall not mislead the public.

It should be noted that if the product is directly acquired by patent process or the packaging of the product is labeled with patent number or mark, Chinese instructions are required to specify that the product is obtained by patent process.
