How do foreigners apply for trademark registration in China?

Foreigners or foreign enterprises having residences or business places in China may enjoy the national treatment in trademark registration.

They may handle trademark registration by the following two ways:

1) directly handle it in Trademark Office;

2) entrust the state-approved trademark agencies to handle it.

Foreigners or foreign enterprises having no habitual residences or business places in China must entrust trademark agencies to handle trademark registration. As to directly handling trademark registration, one shall go to Trademark Registration Hall of Trademark Office for registration. As to entrusting trademark agencies to handle trademark registration, one shall submit a power of attorney of entrustment and may ask the trademark agencies about other required files or handling procedure.
