Formal requirements:
1. Instruction letter indicating the international classes the applicant intends to search;
2. Clear word or device mark in text format by fax or in electronic format by email.
Notes:
1. Trademark search is not the mandatory step for application, but it is a necessary step.
2. Trademark shall be examined separately in China if the mark comprises several elements, such as word and device, word with Chinese and English characters. Therefore, separate searches for the combining mark are necessary.
3. Trademark search with professional report usually takes two or three working days.
