The 3rd China Patent Week starts

With the theme of Coping with Financial Crisis, Serving Enterprises'Innovation, Boosing IPR Strategy and Building Innovation-Oriented Nation, on November 12, the 3rd China Patent Week drew its curtain in different provinces or cities at the same time in the nation. Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu presented at the inaugurating ceremony of the main meeting place in Guangzhou.

Tian Lipu expressed in his speech to develop China Patent Week into an important promotion mechanism in hastening the sound operation of China's IPR creation and use, accelerating the implementation of national IPR strategy and expediting the construction of innovation-oriented country.

At the inaugurating ceremony, the principle of Guangzhou Municipal IP Office announced the Proposal on Developing Nationwide IPR Commonweal Service and Promoting the Construction of Innovation-Oriented Country on behalf of the IP offices of the cities where 42 National Patented Technology Display & Trade Centers located, and put forward ten proposal including enhancing IPR commonweal service awareness, taking the opening day of each China Patent Week as National IP Commonweal Service Day.

The 3rd China Patent Week was organized by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), Guangdong Provincial People's Government and Guangzhou Municipal People's Government and assisted by Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, Dongguan Municipal People's Government and Fushan Municipal People's Government. The events set up main meeting place and branch meeting places, and the main meeting place was Guangzhou city of Guangdong province and the branch meeting places were in other provinces and cities. A series of activities will go on simultaneously in each province and city in the nation including on-the-spot patent exhibition & trading activity, online patent display & trading activity, activities with local characteristics, and thematic commonweal service activity. The event will last till November 16.
